A. Read the passage about ‘The Wonders of Science ’ and answer the questions that follow.
The wonders of science can be seen everywhere in all the walks of life. It has influenced
our lives immensely. Electricity, vehicles, aeroplanes, computers, radios, television sets,
huge dams, satellites, robots, space stations, trains and innumerable electronic items, all
these wonders are man-made marvels. Men of science go on looking for newer ways and
means to provide mankind more and more equipments to ease their work and raise their
living standards. Electricity has speeded up many processes and has given birth to many
labour saving devices. We can t imagine life without it. Buses, trains and aeroplanes
have made travelling faster, easier and comfortable. They have reduced time and
distance. Spacecrafts have worked wonders. Man has reached the moon. Multistoried
buildings and bridges have solved the problems of accommodation and traffic jams,
respectively. Dams have helped to produce electricity and provide water supply for
irrigation.

Computers, telephones and internet have improved communication, data processing and
information technology. Similarly, radio and television sets have brought entertainment
and world views to our homes.
