Noun – Its Types
A noun is the name of a person, animal, place or thing. It may also name a feeling or an idea.
For example:
I live in Kanpur .
She is in hospital .
Nouns are of four types. These are –
Proper noun names a particular person, place or thing.
For example:
K2 is the highest mountain.
Kanika is my best friend.
Common noun gives a common name to persons, places or things of the same kind.
For example:
Ganga is the purest river .
Peacock is a beautiful bird .
Abstract noun names some states, qualities, feelings or ideas that we can only think of or
feel but cannot touch or see.
For example:
He is full of anger .
My height is 5 feet 4 inches.
