                 There are many more festivals celebrated in India. It is a land of diverse
                 cultures. Which all do you know of?




              Gurpurab


              Gurpurab  is  an  important  festival

              of  Sikhs.  It  is  celebrated  to  mark

              the  birthdays  of  the  ten  Sikh

              Gurus  that  the  Sikhs  worship.

              They do Kirtans and Prabhat Pheri.

              They visit gurudwaras on this day

              and  organise  langars  (free  meals)

              for everyone. They express their joy by bursting crackers. They

              love to serve mankind.


                                                         Pateti

                                                         Celebrated by the Parsis, Pateti is an

                                                         important  festival  in  their  religion.

                                                         They  visit  fire  temples  or  ‘agiary’  to

                                                         ask  for  forgiveness  for  any  mistake

                                                         committed  in  the  past  and  promise

                                                         to  live  with  good  thoughts  and  do

              good deeds only.


               *  Holi is called the fes val of colours.

               * Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated a er the month of Ramazan.

               * Christmas marks the birth of Jesus Christ.
