Tenant Farmer
There are some farmers in our country who do not own any land. They work

on the land owned by other people. When the crop gets ready, they divide
one-half of that with the owner. It is the work of tenant farmer to provide
things needed to grow crops like seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, etc.

Factors Favourable for Cultivation

We need favourable climate and fertile soil to grow crops. Good quality

seeds, modern farm machinery, good irrigation facilities, fertilizers and
pesticides make a good yield of crops.

Seeds

Farmers get seeds from the seed market. Farmers should use good quality
hybrid seeds to ensure a higher yield.

Farm Machinery

Now-a-days, modern farm machinery, like tractors, seedsowers, sprayers,
combines harvesters and thresher are used by big farmers. These help the
farmers to do their work easily.

Irrigation

Farmers should have a good
system of irrigation to water the
crops as and when required so
that they do not depend on rain

for water. The artificial way of
supplying water to the plants is
called irrigation . Some farmers

irrigate their land by tubewells .
They do not have to rely on rain.
