comfortable shelter to live in. In
this chapter, we are going to learn
why there are different types of
houses at different places.

Houses are of different types, sizes and are also designed differently. The

factors that determine the types of houses people live in are the location

and climate of the place, the construction materials available locally and
the economic conditions of the people.

Kutcha houses made up of mud, straw, bamboo, etc. are found here.

The construction materials used for making these houses cost less and are
easily available. Now-a-days, pucca houses are also being constructed in

villages. They are made up of bricks and cement.
