12 Local Games
Local games are also known as Traditional Games. Usually,
children used to play local games before the invention of TV and
other gadgets.
Let us know about some such popular local games.
Hide and Seek is a game played by children
all over the world. In this game, one player
looks for the other players who hide
themselves in different places. In India, it is
called ‘luka-chuppi’ or ‘ankh-michauli’.
Hopscotch is a game in which boxes are
drawn. The players throw a disc into each
box. They get their disc back and return to
start by hopping from box-to-box.
Flying Kites, is a game in which kites are used
for the sport of kite fighting. Traditionally
most are small, unstable single line flat kites
where line tension alone is used for control
and an abrasive line is used to cut down other
kites.

In Asian Games 2018, India won 2 medals (1 Silver and 1 Bronze) in Kabaddi
which is our local game.
