Open Curves
Look at the following curves.
The curves which have two ends are called open curves .
Now, look at these figures :
A simple closed curve made of line segments only is called a polygon .
Types of Polygon
Triangle : A polygon formed by three line segments is called a triangle . Each
of the shapes shown below is a triangle.
The three lines segments forming a triangle are called its sides .
Quadrilateral : A polygon formed by four line segments is called a
quadrilateral.
