computer, laptop, palmtop, tablets etc.

Types of Computers

The four basic types of computers are as under:
1. Supercomputer 2. Mainframe Computer

3. Minicomputer 4. Microcomputer
Supercomputer

Supercomputers are the fastest and the
most expensive computers. These huge

computers are used to solve very computer
science and engineering problems. A

typcial supercomputer can do up to ten
trillion individual calculations every

seconds.

Mainframe Computer
The mainframe computers can be accommodated

in large air-conditioned rooms because of its size.
Mainframes can also process and store large

amount of data. These computers are used in
banks and government offices.
