Once, two brothers, Asa and Munserang, used to run a wayside inn near a forest

path. One day, Asa went out fishing, leaving his younger brother to attend to any
customers who might come along. Some time after Asa had gone, a party of hunters

came and asked for food. “Prepare some fish curry for us, for we are hungry as
             wolves,” they told Munserang.

“Sorry,” said Munserang, “I cannot make fish curry now. I have some pumpkin curry
and rice, and you can have that if you like.” “Pumpkin curry?” the hunters cried, hardly

believing their ears. “Do you imagine we can live on that kind of food? Make some fish
curry for us quickly or you’ll be sorry.”

“I shall not make fish curry,” Munserang told them, “It’s either pumpkin curry or

             nothing. Take your choice.”

At this, hot words were exchanged between them. In the end, the hunters gave
Munserang a thorough beating and tying his hands behind his back, took him away
             with them.
                                                                                   wept : cried
                  Munserang wept loudly as

he was being dragged away. His
             brother Asa was retuning home

after catching a lot of fish. He
             heard Munserang’s cries and
             realised what had happened. So,

he made a plan. He ran into the
forest, taking with him all the

fish he had caught and climbed
up a tree, then ran back and
             met the hunters.

                  “Please set my brother free.”

             Asa requested the hunters.

“Oh he’s your brother, is he?”
they asked. “He has been very
rude to us and we are taking
What is fish curry made up of?
him away. If you want him back,
you’ll have to pay for him.”

“Very well,” replied Asa, “I shall
