and  raw  vegetables,  curd  and  fruits
              are called a balanced diet.

              The food should be cooked well to kill

              harmful  germs,  no  junk  food  is
              included  in  balanced  diet.  Junk  food
              only makes us fat and not healthy.


              For a baby, only milk is sufficient while
              growing  children  have  to  eat  great
              variety of foods. Drink lots of water to digest food.







                 * Can you name some pulses?

                 * Name two dishes made from milk?
                 * Do you eat eggs? What dishes from eggs do you like?

                 * Do you eat meat?







               Some  dishes  are  famous  for  some  states  like  dosa  and  sambar  of
               Tamilnadu, makki ki roti and sarson ka saag of Punjab, etc.


               People  who  eat  fruits  and  vegetables  only  and  do  not  take  any  animal
               product, not even milk are called vegans.






               * Food gives energy to the body and helps us to grow.

               * We get food from plants and animals.
               * Our body need different kinds of foods and nutrients to grow and keep healthy.

               * Fruits, vegetables, cereals, pulses, oils, spices, etc. are all plant products.

               * Milk, eggs, meat, honey are animal products.
               * The  diet  that  has  all  types  of  healthy  food  in  the  right  amount  is  called  a

                   balanced diet.
