30                      Seven Wonders








            The new Seven Wonders of the world were compiled by popular

            vote  over  a  six-year  period  by  a  non-profit  group  headed  by

            adventurer Bernard Weber.

            Pictures and descriptions of the seven wonders of the world are

            given below. With the help of the Clue Corner, write their names.

                                            It  was  made  by  Mughal  Emperor  Shah  Jahan  in  the

                                            memory  of  his  loving  wife  Mumtaz  Mahal.  It  is  a

                                            mausoleum  located  in  Agra,  India.  Its  construction
                                            began in 1632 and was completed in 1653. It is made
                                            up of white marble stone.

            It  was  an  amphitheatre  with  a  capacity  of  50,000
            people.  It  is  the  greatest  piece  of  Roman  architecture

            situated  in  the  city  of  Rome,  Italy.  It  was  built  2000
            years ago.

            It  is  the  most  famous  temple  in  the  Mexican  city  of

            Yucatan, built by the Maya civilization. It is a temple
            dedicated  to  Kukulkan,  the  Plumed  Serpent.  It  has  a
            total of 365 steps which is equal to the number of days

            in a year.
