8 Making Bills
We often buy things and then we get money bills of the items.
Thus, a bill is a slip of paper on which a shopkeeper notes down the requirements of a
buyer and calculates the total cost of items purchased.
Format of Bills
Example : Mr Sharma got the following bill from the Book Store, Delhi. Verify his bill.

Verification of Bill
Cost of 1 dictionary = ` 27.00
Cost of 3 dictionaries = ` (27 × 3) = ` 81.00
Cost of 1 pen = ` 15.00 Note
Cost of 4 pens = ` (15 × 4) = ` 60.00 We must pay the bill
after verifying it.
Cost of 1 notebook = ` 30.00
Cost of 3 notebooks = ` (30 × 3) = ` 90.00
Total amount = ` 231.00
Hence, the amount of the bill is correct.
