Now, we find the multiples of the denominator till the fourth place. So, we

                            have 3, 6, 9, and 12.
                                                                        2 4 6 8
                          Hence, the equivalent fractions are = = = .
                                                                        3 6 9 12
            Checking Equivalence of Fractions

To check whether given fractions are equivalent or not, we follow the cross multiply

            rule given below :

F Multiply the numerator of the first fraction with the denominator of the second
fraction and the denominator of the first fraction with the numerator of the second

                 fraction.

F Compare both the products, if they are equal, then the fractions are equivalent,
                 otherwise not.

                                               7 21
Example : Check whether and are equivalent fractions.
                                               9 27

            Solution : 7 21

                                               9 27

                                      7 × 27 and 9 × 21

                                = 189 and 189

                      Both the products are equal.

                                7 21
                      Hence, and are equivalent fractions.
                                9 27
