Fertilisation : The process of fusion of the sperm and ovum
Internal fertilisation : Fertilisation that takes place inside the body
External fertilisation : Fertilisation that takes place out side the body
Uterus : A big womb where the fertilised egg develops
Viviparous animals : Animals that give birth to their babies
Oviparous animals : Animals that lay eggs
Asexual reproduction : A method of reproduction in which only a single parent is involved

i Reproduction ensures continuity of life on the earth.
i Producing young ones of their own kind by all living beings is called reproduction.
i There are two methods of reproduction namely sexual reproduction and asexual
reproduction.
i In sexual reproduction two parents one male and the other female of the same species are
required.
i Some multicellular organisms have both male and female sex organs, these organisms are
called bisexual organisms.
i Some multicellular organisms have either male sex organ or female sex organ, these
organisms are called unisexual organisms.
i There are two kinds of fertilisation namely external fertilisation and internal fertilisation.
