Herbs

Very small plants like spinach, grass and mint have a
thin, weak stem and live only for one season.

Banana plant is not a tree. It is a herb.

It is used for building rafts and craft models.

Climbers

Weak plants with very thin stem and delicate

structure need support to stand. They are
called climbers. Example: money plant and

grapevine.

Creepers

Some weak plants with very thin and soft
stem cannot stand at all. They grow along the ground and are called

creepers.

Example: pumpkin, watermelon, musk melon, etc.

* Dene shrubs.
* Give examples of herbs.

* Do you have a garden?
* Have you seen a climber?
Plants are found everywhere

They grow on land as well as in the water.

Water Plants or Aquatic Plants

g Water hyacinth, water lily and lotus grow only in water.

g Plants like cactus and date palm grow in deserts.

g Teak and mahogany grow in hot and wet places.

g Fir, willow and spruce grow on mountains.
