Puppies with the Bitch Calves with the Cow Baby with Its Mother
Mammals give birth to babies. Human beings,
dogs, cats, cows, lions and tigers are
mammals. Just as our parents look after us, all
other mammals look after their babies. The
mother feeds her babies with her own milk,
cleans them and keeps them warm. All animals
look after their young ones till their babies
grow enough to take care of themselves. Most
mammals have hair on their body. Birds Lay Eggs
Some animals like fish, birds, frogs, snakes and insects lay eggs. Young ones
hatch out of the eggs.
The duck-billed platypus is a mammal that lays eggs.
* Have you ever seen monkeys and their young ones?
* Do you know anyone who has been adopted and lives with his foster parents
instead of natural parents? Do you think adopting a child is a nice thing to do?
Adoption
Sometimes, children lose their parents due to accidents or natural disasters
like earthquakes and cyclones. These children are then adopted legally by
other people who love and look after them. This is called adoption of a child.
Parents who adopt the child are called foster parents and the children who
are adopted are called adopted children.
