Animals
Birds eat the fleshy part of the fruits and expose the seeds. We also eat fruits
and throw away the seeds. This helps the seeds to disperse. Sometimes,
hooked and spiny fruits cling to the body of animals and birds and even to
the clothes of humans. For example, xanthium fruit has spines, the tiger nail
seed has hooks and the spear grass fruit has stiff hair. They stick to animal
furs and are carried away to other places.
