Animals
Birds eat the fleshy part of the fruits and expose the seeds. We also eat fruits

and throw away the seeds. This helps the seeds to disperse. Sometimes,
hooked and spiny fruits cling to the body of animals and birds and even to
the clothes of humans. For example, xanthium fruit has spines, the tiger nail
seed has hooks and the spear grass fruit has stiff hair. They stick to animal

furs and are carried away to other places.

               * Plants reproduce from seeds, spores or body parts of the mother plant.

               * The process by which a seed grows into a seedling is called germination.
               * When seeds get enough water, air and warmth, they grow into new plants.
               * Dispersal means the scattering of seeds. The agents of dispersal are wind,
                  water and animals.
