5. Albuquerque International Balloon
This festival is held in Albuquerque, New
Mexico every year.
It is the largest gathering of hot air balloons in
the world.
6. Cascamorras Festival
This festival is held in Baza, Spain, in the
province of Granada on 6th September every
year. Hundreds of Spaniards cover their bodies
with grease and re-enact the stealing of the
famous statue of ‘Virgen-de-la-Piedad’ which
took place over 500 years ago. It is followed by a
grand party.
7. Chinese Holiday
The biggest holiday with dragons, fireworks,
symbolic clothing, flowers, lanterns and
celebration is China’s most important and
significant day of the year. Also known as the
Spring Festival, Chinese New year celebrations
traditionally make the festival the longest in the
Chinese calender.
8. Battle of the Oranges
The Battle of the Oranges is a festival which
includes a tradition of throwing of oranges
between organised groups. It is the largest food
fight in Italy.
