A noun standing for one person, animal, place or thing is said to be in the singular
             noun.

             Read the following examples:
             1.  Dog     is playing with kids.

             2.  Butterfly     sits on the flower.

             A  noun standing for more than one person, animal, place or thing is said to be in
             the plural noun     .

             Read the following examples:

             1.  Dogs     are playing with kids.
             2.  Butterflies     are flying.

             Read the rules to change singular nouns to plural nouns that are given below:

             1.  Add   to form the plural of most nouns.-s

                   Read the following examples:

                   girl +   = girls  s                           dog +   = dogs     s

             2.  Add -es      to nouns that end in ch,        ,  ,  ,  .sh s x z

                   Read the following examples:
                   bench + es     = benches                      dish + es    = dishes

                   bus     + es   = buses                        box + es     = boxes

                   quiz    + es    = quizes

             3.  For nouns that end in -y         with a consonant before the  , change they            y  to   and -i
                   add -es  .

                   Read the following examples:

                   candy   + ies    = candies                    city  +  ies = cities

             4.  For nouns that end in   with a vowel before the  , just add  .-y  y          s

                   Read the following examples:

                   toy + = toy s    s                            monkey     +  s = monkeys

             5.  For nouns that end in  or -f        -fe , drop the   or -f  -fe  and add -ves  .

                   Read the following examples:
                   loaf + ves = loaves                           knife + ves = knives
