Adding Even Numbers

2 + 4 = 6 (2 × 3)

2 + 4 + 6 = 12 (3 × 4)

2 + 4 + 6 + 8 = 20 (4 × 5)

2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + 10 = 30 (5 × 6)

2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + 10 + 12 = 42 (6 × 7)

Adding Odd Numbers

1 + 3 = 4 (2 × 2)

1 + 3 + 5 = 9 (3 × 3)

1 + 3 + 5 + 7 = 16 (4 × 4)

1 + 3 + 5 + 7 + 9 = 25 (5 × 5)

1 + 3 + 5 + 7 + 9 + 11 = 36 (6 × 6)

We know that— by adding consecutive odd and even numbers, we get the
pattern like above.
