                                                  The Ganga-Brahmaputra Basin

             Flora and Fauna
             Vegetation in different areas of the Amazon-Basin
             depends  on  the  types  of  landform.  The  Ganga
             and  Brahmaputra  plains,  for  example,  are
             covered  with  tropical  deciduous  trees  and  also
             with  trees  such  as  teak,  sal  and  peepal.  Thick
