In this chapter, we are going to
discuss about dignity of labour.

Essential Services

The services that we need everyday are called essential services. For
example, a washerman who washes clothes, a garbage collector who collects
garbage from each house, a milkman who delivers milk, a newspaper vendor

who delivers newspapers every morning, a maid who does the cleaning jobs
of the house, etc. We all need the help of different people to lead a
comfortable life.

Milkman Maid Gardener Newspaper Vendor Sweeper

A sweeper, cobbler, garbage collector, maid servant, etc. should be treated

with respect. Imagine, how dirty the streets would be if the sweepers do not
clean them or they did not collect garbage from your homes. Remember, no
job is good or bad. It is our thinking that makes it so.
