The position of an adverb in a sentence can affect the meaning expressed
by the sentence.
Look, the
audience look very
happy. Mohit is
running very
slowly .
Varun will
come first in
the race.
Varun is running
very fast .
A word that is used in a sentence to modify, describe or change the meaning of a verb or
an adjective is called an adverb . These words add description to the sentence to make it
more detailed.
Read the following examples:
1. Anju sang melodiously .
2. The Alipore Zoo of Kolkata is quite impressive.
Types of Adverbs
Adverbs are classified into seven types. These are:
Adverbs of Manner Adverbs of Frequency Adverbs of Place
Adverbs of Reason Adverbs of Degree / Quantity Adverbs of Time
