Mass
When mass (the weight of something) is being measured, the basic unit of measurement
is the kilogram.
1 kg = 1000 grams
Units of Mass
The gram is used to measure small weights.
A gram is one thousandth of a kilogram (0.001 kg). Things which might have a mass of
a single gram include items such as paperclip or a marble.
Representation of these units with their values is shown in following chart :

Unit kg hg dag g dg cg mg
1 1 1
Value 1000 g 100 g 10 g 1 g g g g
10 100 1000
From the above given chart, we observe the following relationships.
1
1 kg = 1000 g 1 dg = g = 0.1 g

Capacity
Liquids, salts or anything that can be poured into containers can be measured using
various containers. The volume of a container that is filled with a liquid or solid is often
called its capacity .
It is usually measured in units such as gallons, quarts, pints, cups, fluid ounces, litres
and millilitres.
Units of Capacity
« Millilitre (ml) is a metric unit used to measure the capacity of small containers.
