Length
Length is a measure of how long something is from end to end. This may include distance,
which means the space between two points or objects.
Units of Length
Units are used to measure the length and distance.
The most commonly used metric units of length are kilometre (km), metre (m), centimetre (cm)
and millimetre (mm). These units of length are related as follows :
10 mm = 1 cm
100 cm = 1 m
1000 m = 1 km
Representation of these units with their values is shown in the following chart :

Unit km hm dam m dm cm mm
1 1 1
Value 1000 m 100 m 10 m 1 m m m m
10 100 1000
From the above given chart, we can observe these relationships.

1 km = 1000 m 1 dm = m = 0.1 m

1 hm = 100 m 1 cm = m = 0.01 m
