12 Temperature
Temperature
Till now, we have learnt various types of measurement such as length, weight, capacity
and time. But, none of these measurements can be used to find how hot or cold any
object is.
When we touch any hot or cold object, we can make out which is hot and which is cold.
But, the question here is how much cold or how much hot. At the same time, it is difficult
to know the exact level of hotness or coldness by touching because the sense of touch
varies from one person to another. To find exact answer, we need some measures of
hotness or coldness.
Cold Hot
Temperature is the measure of the hotness or coldness of an object with reference to some
standard values. The instrument which measures the temperature of body is known as
thermometer.
