Alternative Method : Length = 5 cm, Breadth = 4 cm, Height = 2 cm

Volume of the cuboid = l × b × h

= 5 × 4 × 2

= 40 cm 3

Find the volume of the following cubes.

a. 6 cm

Example : Find the volume of the given solid.

Solution : There are 3 layers, so we add the cubes of these layers.

1 layer = 5 cubes

2 layer = 4 cubes

3 layer = 3 cubes

12 cubes

\ Volume = 12 cu. cm.

Example : Find the volume of the given solid.

Solution : One layer = 3 × 3 = 9 cubes

3 layers = 9 × 3 = 27 cubes
\ Volume = 27 cu. cm.

Alternative Method : Side of the cube = 3 cm

Volume of the cuboid = (Side)
= 3 3

= 27 cm 3
