Division of a 5-Digit Number by a 2-Digit Number

            Example : Divide 45948 by 39 and find the quotient and the remainder.

            Solution  :           1178                          Verification :

                           39    4 5 9 4 8                      Dividend  =  Quotient × Divisor + Remainder
                              – 3 9                             45948       =  1178 × 39 + 6
                                 0 6 9
                                                                45948       =  45948
                                 – 3 9
                                   3 0 4                        Hence, proved.
                                 – 2 7 3

                                   0 3 1 8
                                                  Thus, Quotient  =  1178
                                   – 3 1 2
                                                         Remainder =  6
                                     0 0 6
