Diwali
It comes twenty days after Dussehra.
It is celebrated by Hindus and is
known as the “festival of lights”.
People wear new clothes.
People pray to goddess Lakshmi.
They decorate their houses with
diyas, candles and lamps. They
exchange sweets, gifts and greetings
with friends and family members.
Children let off crackers.
The businessmen celebrate Diwali as New Year’s day.
Eid-Ul-Fitr
It is the most important festival of
Muslims. It comes after the holy
month of Ramazan.
The Muslims go on fast during this
month. People wear new dresses on
Eid and go to mosques to offer
prayers or Namaz.
They greet one another saying “Eid
Mubaarak”. A sweet dish called “Sewaiyan” is prepared on this day.
F Eid is celebrated thrice a year. Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Zuha and Eid-ul-Milad.
Christmas
It is the religious festivals of Christians and
is celebrated on 25th December every year.
It is the birthday of Jesus Christ. On 24th
December, people celebrate Christmas Eve.
