Religious Festivals
India is known as the land of religions. There are Hindus, Muslims,
Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Parsis and Jains in India. People of all
these religion have their special days which they celebrate as a
festival.
Dussehra
Dussehra marks the victory of
Lord Rama over Ravana.
It is a ten-day festival. People
recall the story of Rama's life
organising Ramlila for nine
nights.
On the tenth day, the effigies
of Meghnada, Kumbhakarna
and Ravana are burnt.
Dussehra marks the victory of good over evil. It is also called as
Vijayadashmi.
