So, increase the ones place digit by 1 and replace
each digit after the decimal point with 0.
\ Rounded off number of 31.62 = 32.00.

Digit at ones place
So, increase the ones place digit by 1 and replace
each digit after decimal point with 0.
\ Rounded off number of 252.56 = 253.00
Rounding off a Decimal to the Nearest Tenths (Correct to One Decimal Place)
« First, examine the hundredths place digit.
« If the hundredths place digit is less than 5, then replace each digit after tenths
place with 0.
« If the hundredths place digit is 5 or greater than 5, then increase the tenths place
digit by 1 and replace each digit after it with 0.
Example : Round off the following decimals to the nearest tenths :
a. 29.62 b. 65.17 c. 48.354
Digit at hundredths
place is less than 5.
Solution : a. Given decimal = 29.6 2
So, replace each digit after tenths place with 0.
\ Rounded off number of 29.62 = 29.60
