Tribal Communities
As the rise and fall of various kingdoms was
happening, new arts, crafts and production
activities flourished in towns and villages. There
were changes in the economic, political and
social scenario over the centuries. But, the
changes in the social aspects were not the same
everywhere. This is because different societies
evolved differently.
Tribes
TRIBAL SOCIETIES
Tribal societies were absolutely
different from those which existed MAJOR INDIAN TRIBES

in big cities. They did not follow the
social rules and rituals, prescribed
by the Brahmanas because they
divided societies into numerous
unequal classes. These societies

Their main source of livelihood was Chamar Lalung

there. Some tribes were nomadic
and kept on moving from one I N D I A
place to another. Many large tribes Khond
lived in forest, hills, deserts and
places difficult to reach.
