Wedding Langar
The food is served from buckets using spoons with long handles. All the
people are served in their plates. They are served dal, vegetables, curd, salad
and tandoori rotis. No one wastes the food at langar. At langar, all eat
together – the rich, the poor and the people of all castes and religions.
The practice of langar was started by the first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Eating at School
Ankit likes the lunch break
at school. As soon as the
bell rings for the break,
Ankit and his friends rush
to wash their hands. They
go to the playground and
sit down to eat food from
their tiffin boxes.
