Animals Help Man to Work
Oxen are used for ploughing the fields. We use elephants to transport heavy
logs of wood. The horses and the camels are used as means of transport.
Dogs can be trained to help blind people and in detecting bombs.

Early men depended on animals for food. They
used to hunt animals for food. Later on, they
started practising agriculture. They also started
domesticating animals like cow, buffalo, goat,
horse, etc. when they realised that animals were
very useful for them. We know about it from rock
paintings.

But now-a-days,
people hunt wild
animals for their skin,
tusks, horns, bones,
etc. Some people kill
animals for
recreation. Hunting is
an illegal act these
days. It is totally
banned. But, still
some people hunt Early man hunting animal
birds/animals for monetary benefit. Such people are called poachers . here T
are some people who depend on animals for their livelihood. They earn
